Ångström is a version of Linux started by a small group of people who worked on the OpenEmbedded, OpenZaurus and OpenSimpad projects to unify their effort to make a stable and userfriendly distribution for embedded devices like handhelds, set top boxes and network-attached storage devices and more.

Angstrom OS Downloads
Prebuild OS images can be used to build your own bootable SD card.
You will need to partition and format your own bootable SD card before using the Angstrom images. If that sounds too complex, you can save time by purchasing prebuilt BeagleBoot SD cards with the latest firmware and rootfs. It helps to have a backup card, just in case of emergencies. Otherwise, use the links on the right to download the Angstrom Kernel and RootFS images to your SD card.
Apps and Software Development
Here are a few examples of Linux apps customized for the BeagleTouch and BeagleBoard. See the BeagleBoard GTK Development page for more information on writing your own custom user interfaces and embedded applications.
Compiling the Kernel
Compiling the Angstrom kernel for custom drivers is an activity typically performed on a Linux PC.
See the antipastohw wiki for instructions for building the Liquidware-BeagleBoard-Linux-Kernel
